Registered Manager – Care Home

Bethel House at Hebron Hall, Dinas Powys

We have a vacancy for a Registered Manager with a heart for the care of older people and experience in management in the care sector. This is the central role in ensuring the wellbeing of our residents by leading and motivating a committed staff team.

Bethel House at Hebron Hall is a Christian Care Home in Dinas Powys, about four miles from the centre of Cardiff, established in 1983 as an independent non-denominational charity. Offering both residential care and dementia care, it is registered for 39 residents, both permanent and for respite care.

We are looking for a caring Christian with appropriate care home management experience who wants to make a positive contribution to the lives of our residents through leading our compassionate and adaptable care team. The Board and Management of Hebron Hall have exciting plans for the future development of Bethel House and the Registered Manager will play a key role in contributing to these.

There is an Occupational Requirement that the Registered Manager is a practising Christian who is able to promote the Christian faith in line with Hebron Hall’s charitable aims and applicants will be asked to provide a reference from a Church leader in addition to the usual professional references.

Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory disclosure report from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

A two-bedroom flat could be made available on site on a temporary basis for a successful applicant looking to relocate to the area.

Engagement Co-ordinator - Bethel House at Hebron Hall, Dinas Powys

Bethel House at Hebron Hall is a Christian Care Home in Dinas Powys, about four miles from the centre of Cardiff, established in 1983 as an independent non-denominational charity. Offering both residential care and dementia care, it is registered for 39 residents, both permanent and for respite care.

We are looking to recruit a talented Engagement Co-ordinator to work 24 hours per week over four days, including alternate Saturdays, as part of our welcoming, close-knit team.

You will play a key part in the engagement of our residents and help them access cultural activities, stay active and socially engaged. You will provide a range of activities, including home-based activities and off-site outings. You will work with staff, management, residents and families to develop a stimulating range of opportunities.

Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role or maybe have worked as a support worker with older people. You will bring a range of ideas and a passion for helping residents benefit from social engagement in a way that meets their individual needs and requirements, taking into consideration levels of ability, best practice (including Dementia) and NICE guidelines. An organised approach and a genuine enjoyment of working with older people and helping them to reach their potential is essential.

You will have NVQ/QCF level 2 in Health and Social Care and a First Aid in the Workplace certificate and/or a willingness to undertake these.

24 hours per week over 4 days, including alternate Saturdays.

Housekeepers required

Bethel House is a Care Home for Older People, part of Hebron Hall Christian Centre in Dinas Powys and established in 1983 as an independent non-denominational charity.

We are looking for new members of our Housekeeping Team who can join us in offering an outstanding home-from-home for our residents.

  • Can you work on your own, as well as be part of a team?

We are looking to recruit staff for our Housekeeping Team to work three or four shifts per week 8:00am - 1:00pm or 12:30pm – 5:30pm:

  • Ensuring that residents' rooms are serviced to the highest standards of cleanliness within appropriate timescales
  • Ensuring that residents' laundry is washed, ironed and returned to them in a timely manner
  • Keeping public areas, corridors and back of house areas spotless
  • Adhering to H&S, COSHH and all company policies, keeping work areas neat and well organised
  • Reporting any maintenance issues promptly
  • Using initiative to ensure cleanliness is maintained to the highest standard
  • Identifying ways to improve residents' wellbeing
  • Undertaking training as required
  • Working under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor
