Morning Cook for Bethel House

A vacancy has arisen for a Morning Cook in Bethel House our Residential Care Home. This is for a minimum of two mornings each week on a rota basis plus relief.

Wage: £6.86 per hour unqualified (£7.63 qualified)

Hours: 13+ per week 2 mornings over 7, shifts between 6.30am - 1pm

Location: Dinas Powys, Vale of Glamorgan CF64 YB

Description

Previous experience of cooking in a care environment and knowledge of nutrition and food
preparation for older people would be advantageous. A food hygiene certificate would be desirable.

Duties include preparing and cooking meals for residents in a care home, keeping the kitchen clean and tidy to maintain hygiene standards, stock rotation, stock ordering and any other related duties as required.

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced disclosure. Disclosure expense will
be met by applicant. This will be refunded after 3months successful probation period.

Vacancy for Resident Warden/Handyman

A vacancy for the position of a Resident Warden/Handyman will arise at Hebron Hall Christian Centre with effect from September/October 2012.

The Centre comprises a 143 bed Conference Centre, Indoor Swimming Pool and Leisure facilities, Bethel House Residential Care Home for Older People and King’s Court Sheltered Housing. The Centre employs over 60 staff on a full and part time basis, which includes an experienced maintenance team and office staff.

Hebron Hall is a member of the Evangelical Alliance. The Conference Centre is a member of CCI and the Care Home is registered with CSSIW and is a member of Care Forum Wales and The Vale of Glamorgan Care Homes Association.

The post will involve being responsible for the oversight and running of the Centre out of normal office hours on certain weeknights and on some weekends and bank holidays. In addition there will be general handyman duties to support the Maintenance Team and the overall running of the Centre. The successful applicant will report directly to the General Manager.

The annual salary is £15,347 which is subject to review in April 2012.

The residential property is a self contained dwelling with gas central heating and uPVC Double glazing. It adjoins Ebenezer House and was built in approximately 1964. Entry is at first floor level up a flight of external steps. Comprising, entrance hall, leading to a through lounge/diner, separate kitchen and an additional reception room. On the next floor there are three bedrooms and a modern bathroom. There are pleasant views from the large picture windows.

Rent is payable to Hebron Hall, as are gas and electricity which are charged on meter readings and water charges are raised at a fixed assessed cost. Council tax and telecoms payments are made directly to the respective providers.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful applicant to be a practising Christian, who subscribes to the basis of faith of the Evangelical Alliance, as he/she will be required to support and encourage the spiritual needs of residents and guests.

The appointment will be subject to an enhanced CRB check and satisfactory references.
